The Importance of Athletics
The athletic program at Christian Heritage Academy is an important part of the overall program of the school. It is our intent to live out the Biblical admonition to “do all things heartily as unto the Lord” in each area of our athletic program. Our athletic programs provide an active environment in which teamwork, leadership, integrity and selflessness are not only encouraged but are viewed as necessary to a successful team. At Christian Heritage Academy, we believe organized sports are a proven method of developing character in our students. We offer a variety of athletic programs including soccer, volleyball, cross country, baseball, and basketball for grades 6-12.
The highest goal of the athletic department of Christian Heritage Academy is to help our athletes come to know Christ as their personal Savior and desire to make Him known to others. While never losing sight of this most important element, we believe it is our responsibility to provide a quality athletic experience for our athletes. We seek to do this by providing quality coaches, excellent facilities and equipment, and the opportunity to participate against challenging competition.
We are a member of the Virginia Association of Christian Athletics Conference and participate in the National Association of Christian Athletes national tournaments. In 2000 and 2002, the boys’ soccer team won the national championship, and we are proud to have been recognized with the National Spirituality Award three times. The girls’ volleyball and soccer teams have finished second in the VACA state tournaments.
