Christian Heritage Academy is an independent, non-denominational Christian school run by a Board of Directors. Currently we enroll 145 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Established in 1980, the school graduated its first senior class in June of 1984. Christian Heritage Academy is accredited by the National Association of Private Schools and holds membership in the Association of Christian Schools International.
Christian Heritage Academy is located in Franklin County in south central Virginia. The county is primarily rural, with the local economy based on small farms, local businesses, and a few manufacturing industries. Our student body consists largely of families from this socioeconomic group. Because of economic constraints inherent to this area, many of our graduates choose to attend community college for at least one year before transferring to a four-year institution.
Our academic program is based on a standard yearlong system with seven 49-minute periods for classes and one 49-minute period for lunch. The maximum course load is seven (7) credits per year. We currently offer two diploma tracks: the standard high school diploma, which requires 24 credits; and the advanced diploma, which requires 26 credits and must include four credits each in math and science, three credits in foreign language, and one credit in Advanced English.
Honors courses are offered in calculus, physics, Bible IV (upon completion of an honors thesis), and Advanced English.

Students are ranked according to GPA within their class years.
A student’s GPA is calculated using a 4.0 scale, with honors courses adding up to an extra half-point. Final grades are submitted in June, at which time they are recorded on a student’s transcript and the grade point average is calculated.
