It’s a new school year and CHA’s new Head of School, Mr. Tony Quist, led the first all-school chapel by sharing a new message.
But before focusing on the year ahead, Mr. Quist took the time to recognize and celebrate the many achievements by so many CHA students over the past summer. Some of the student achievements included participating in the summer reading program, working on campus, and participating in athletics throughout the summer months.
With these accomplishments, Mr. Quist challenged the students to have a mindset for achievement in this new school year. Further, he asked them to achieve for the glory of God and not for the glory of one self. In reciting Psalm 10:4, “In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God,” Mr. Quist described that the thoughts of the prideful are far from God.
Students were then introduced to the new “7 Core Values” to serve as a framework to follow for everything that CHA seeks to accomplish as a school this year. The Core Values, which spell out KNIGHTS, state that we are going to be a school…
KNOWLEDGE – …where we share God’s gift of knowledge with thanksgiving and reverence.
NURTURE – …where we maintain a nurturing environment by showing love, grace, and mercy towards others.
INTEGRITY – …where we resolve to operate with moral integrity that glorifies the Lord.
GRATITUDE – …where we show gratitude as God’s creation by striving for excellence.
HONOR – …where we honor the Lord’s authority in a Christ-centered Community.
TRUTH – …where we commit to Truth as revealed in Scripture and through Jesus Christ.
STEWARDSHIP – …where we serve as stewards of God’s resources and opportunities.
Mr. Quist left the students with a final, motivating thought. “As we remain steadfast in our resolve to graduate students trained for a life of godly service through a college preparatory curriculum of high academic standards and sound biblical truth, we are going to be a school that achieves great things, for the glory of God. Amen!”
