Dear CHA Community,
“Bigger is not better, better is better.” That’s a quote a keynote speaker shared during the ACSI Professional Development Forum our staff attended last month and it just keeps playing on repeat in my mind these days. As the fall semester draws to a close, I am overjoyed at how the Lord has moved among us these last five months and how he has helped us become better. In addition to our record enrollment and answered staffing prayers, He has gone above and beyond what we could ever ask or imagine in multiple areas. Here are just a few highlights from this first semester and a sneak peak of what lies ahead for CHA beginning in January.
God has blessed us with over 60% of our $105,000 goal already this year thanks to your tremendous participation in our Heritage Project letters campaign. Since fundraising is a critical part of our annual budget, meeting our goals next semester will surely put us over our mark and provide an opportunity to invest those resources into our school’s program and personnel.
Enrollment is another area where we’ve experienced God’s abundance this year. Following His blessing of record enrollment, we continue to pray boldly for new students and believe that the Lord is already answering that prayer. With a higher than usual number of applications in hand for next year and a K4 class that is nearly full, we are prayerfully planning to start school in August at 175+ students. Please help us spread the word about our wonderful school by sharing your CHA experience with other families. Remember, we offer a $500 tuition credit for referrals.
Coming up in January, we will begin implementing a new school management software through RenWeb®. The incredible suite of tools will offer features specifically designed to provide students and families with instant access to real time grades, online report cards and progress reports, posted homework assignments, school announcements, event calendars and more. The first phase of this implementation is scheduled to be completed by the end of January and will include a new school website and tools related to our continuous enrollment and admissions processes.
Efforts to expand and enhance our academic and athletic programs will continue next semester as we further our preparations to implement block scheduling for Grades 6-12 and introduce Boys Baseball. Professional development will also be a primary focus for our faculty and staff in the coming months and to that end, we have modified our school calendar to add January 3 as a day of in-house training. Mark your calendars as a reminder that students will now return to school on Thursday, January 4 to begin the second semester.
As we head into our Christmas break, clearly we have much to be thankful for and even more to look forward to. Please join me in praying for the Lord’s continued grace and blessings in 2018.
