The Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Head of School as the primary assistant with additional responsibility in the daily administration activities of the school’s main office.

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the daily administrative activities of the school’s main office including but not limited to: staffing the reception desk from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with 30-minute lunch break; handling office communications including phone calls, intercom announcements, and emails; maintaining accurate records and personnel files for faculty, students, and alumni; operating the school infirmary with minimal first aide, parental notifications, and distribution of medicines. He/She will also be responsible for performing personal assistant support duties as directed or approved by the Head of School.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: supporting the Board of Directors by preparing monthly review packets, recording Board meeting minutes, handling Board correspondence as directed by the chairman; processing annual mailings for school and foundation communications as directed by administration; updating school handbooks and manuals, annual mailings; managing administrative inventory including teacher supplies, paper stock, letterhead and mailing resources; procuring instructional supplies, office supplies, textbooks, and classroom resources in a timely manner; maintaining school calendars and operational scheduling.
Must be fast learner and a hard worker with proven ability to organize, multi-task, and switch focus based on task priorities while maintaining a positive and cheerful disposition in welcoming school visitors, students, and families at the reception desk. Basic bookkeeping knowledge is necessary in addition to a proficient use of standard office equipment. Skills in short hand or other form of recording minutes effectively are required. Demonstrated excellence in communication skills including proper grammar and letter writing. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. The candidate will be a professing Christian, a member of a local church, committed to Christian education at CHA, and serve as a Christian role model both in and out of school. Must be comfortable with technology, experienced with Google Apps, familiar with Apple products including MacBook Pro, and proficient in Office applications and web-based email.
Clean background check and a proven commitment to proper handling of confidential information with a strong resolve to maintain operational integrity at all times is absolute required.
Part-Time Elementary Music Teacher
The part-time elementary music teacher will be responsible for teaching music education to students in grades K4-5 for approximately 15 hours a week. The potential for this position to expand to full-time, managing a music program for students in grades K4-12, exists over the next five years as the school continues to grow.

Promote and develop the enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned music experiences which include singing, moving to music, playing of instruments and listening to music. Teach skills in music understanding/appreciation, harmony, explorations in music and choral music. Create and implement musical programs for school assemblies, open houses, parent meetings and two seasonal programs. Nurture the knowledge and awareness of God through classical hymns, modern praise choruses, and other Christian music.
Additional responsibilities include: supporting the school’s strategic plan; developing lesson plans; meeting annual objectives; instructing students, managing classroom/behavior; providing a safe environment conducive to learning; and keeping parents informed.
Must be an experienced musician or singer with a wide knowledge of music and have the ability to teach elementary students with enthusiasm, energy, and effectiveness. Ability to manage a classroom of 15 students at a time with organization and efficiency is an absolute requirement. Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. The candidate will be a professing Christian, a member of a local church, and serve as a Christian role model both in and out of school. Part-Time PE Teacher
The part-time PE teacher will be responsible for teaching physical education to secondary boys grades 6-12 for approximately 10 hours a week.
