At Christian Heritage Academy, sixth grade marks the transition point from a self-contained classroom to a rotating class schedule typical of high school curriculum. Students are given the opportunity to grow as they experience the varied subjects, faculty, and teaching styles. Our rotating class schedule includes homeroom, seven classes, and a lunch period. Each morning, students report to their homeroom teacher who is assigned to them for the academic year. This teacher will serve as the grade level sponsor in addition to being the central point of contact for school announcements and administrative tasks related to that grade level.
Curriculum 6 – 8
Our middle school program is designed to provide a balanced curriculum that will equip each student with the academic, social, and spiritual skills necessary to enter high school. The sixth grade core classes consist of Bible, English, history, math, general science, and physical education. The seventh grade core classes consist of Bible, English, history, math (Pre-Algebra), life science, and physical education. The eighth grade core classes consist of Bible, English, history, math (Algebra), life science, and physical education. In addition to the core classes, students are offered experiential learning classes such as music, art, and computer.
Curriculum 9 – 12
Our high school program is primarily college preparatory in nature yet follows the traditional scope and sequence for grades 9 – 12. Because our students are college-bound, we focus on implementing a curriculum that will equip them to achieve Post High School (PHS) levels of academic excellence before they ever reach the doors of a college or university. Our recent graduates have been accepted to higher learning institutions such as:
At Christian Heritage Academy, our commitment to training students for a life of service to God and their fellowman through Biblical teaching in every subject is fulfilled when our graduates enter higher education fully prepared academically, socially, and especially spiritually.
Our curriculum includes the use of textbooks from Abeka, Bob Jones, and Saxon publishing to facilitate a Christ-centered curriculum. We are very proud to offer advanced classes in the majority of our core classes including English, math, Bible, and science. In the discipline of mathematics; Algebra I/II, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus are offered. In the discipline of science; physical science, Biology I/II, chemistry, and physics are offered. In the discipline of English; American literature, British literature, and Writing I/II are offered. As a balancing component, we offer electives in American sign language, computer, art, music, woodshop, yearbook, and Spanish – just to name a few. Our 12th grade Bible curriculum, Understanding The Times, is one of most influential curriculum in use today to help shape a student’s Biblical worldview.
PSAT, SAT, ACT Testing 10 – 12
At Christian Heritage Academy, our commitment to preparing each student for college includes offering PSAT testing to 10th grade students and SAT/ACT testing to 11th and 12th grade students. Our faculty is devoted to each student performing well on these tests and often offers test prep classes to any student who may be interested.
Christian Values 6 – 12
We strive to provide an educational environment from a Biblical worldview that reinforces the teachings of Christian character and moral training. Christian values are encouraged through daily Bible class for all students, weekly chapel, scripture memory verses, Christ-centered curriculum, Christian teachers as role models, and outstanding Christian leaders as guest speakers. Our Bible curriculum covers areas such as the character and attributes of God; the Bible’s authenticity, historicity, and authority; the church’s foundational epistles; certain aspects of Old Testament history; and encouragement towards Christian moral character.
Extracurricular Activities 6 – 12
Our secondary students are encouraged to become involved in extra-curricular activities including drama, student government, ACSI competitions (math, science, and writing) and more. Pep rallies, weekly chapel services, assemblies and special projects are an integral part of a student’s routine at Christian Heritage Academy.
Our athletic programs provide an active environment in which teamwork, leadership, integrity and selflessness are not only encouraged but are viewed as necessary to a successful team. At Christian Heritage Academy, we believe organized sports are a proven method of developing character in our students. We offer a variety of athletic programs including soccer, volleyball, and basketball for grades 6-12. Please visit our athletics page for additional information on eligibility, schedules, seasons, and more.
